Its' well known that many 01 and 02 LS1 motors have the dreaded piston slap and or high oil consumption. I'am wondering if these problems are common for the 2000 LS1 as well?

Yeah, I have it - or what sounds like piston slap anyways. A lot of 2000's do.

 

My dad's 2000 had it, sounded like a diesel when it was cold.

 

Never had it in my 2000 Z28 .Do not have
it in my 2002 with 300 miles manufactered
in March.
