Peak RWHP will be *roughly* the same though. Until you drive a 2.73 car WOT in third at 100mph, you may not know what it is like to be WAY out of the powerband.
Sure, at 100mph if you are at 2800RPM, while a 3.23 geared car is at 3300RPM he will be putting out more RWHP at that moment. It doesn't change what his engine output would look like on a dyno though.

I'm very familiar with the 100mph bog, my car would always shift to 3rd just before the traps when I had 2.73's. It sucked. And yeah, with your trap speeds not a whole lot of near stock M6's or 3.23 cars are going to keep up.
