1st time at track-3rd gear

1st time i tested my 02 Z28. Ran 13.98 with the ETS on. Got to 4th gear.

Then ran 14.01 without the ETS-once again to 4th gear.

Finally, ran 13.91 with the ETS on and did not shift to 4th- left in third (red lined for the last 50 feet maybe).

Question-do you guys recommend turning on or off the ETS? And do you get to 4th gear or only third?

thank you foryour insights, i am new to this. what a lot of fun. What next to make me faster? (2002 LS1 V8 w 6 speed; Free ram air, K&N filter, MAF cutout, Hypertech computer override, Ram Air Lid, FLowmaster) I can't believe i ran so slow! i need to go faster!

I agree, ASR off and shift into 4th. If you leave it in 3rd, you should be bouncing off the rev-limiter for the last 150-200 feet or so...I know I would be.

What were your 60' times? And what were your trap speeds?

"what next to make me faster"

i think alittle more practice and you should be able to get to the mid 13's or lower. also i noticed a small burnout helps even with street tires.

ASR being off is a MUST. It takes power away from your rear wheels as the car tries to regain traction. Dont want that. Vary shift points and see what works.
