i assuming that i can tell whether the '02 z28 im lookin at has the 1LE option by the vin number, correct? if so how?

1LE was available on SS models only in 2002 as a Y2Y option. Even if the car was an SS you would still not be able to tell from the VIN itself. You would need to either contact SLP and have them confirm by VIN (they maintain a database) or you would need a copy of the secondary invoice that came with the Y2Y optioned cars. Those invoices listed all of the SLP options.

Or you could get under the car and see if it is riding on Koni shocks, that's what the 1LE came with.

SLP sells an aftermarket 1LE kit so it is very possible that the person selling the car installed that. Once again look uner the car for Koni shocks/springs, bigger sway bars, and a different tranny mount.
