17x11" Wheels on the Rear of my Camaro?
17x11" Wheels on the Rear of my Camaro?
There's seems to be a bunch of conflicting information regarding what changes are necessary to fit a 17x11" wheel on the back of an F-body. Are bumpstop modifications required? Is is necessary to roll the fender lip? What about cars with aftermarket springs like a Pro kit or Sportlines?
Thanks very much.

If you do a search this topic has been brought up every other week so there is good info on it...
Friend has 17x11s with nittos and sportlines...Doesnt rub unless there are a lot of people in the car or huge potholes...

i have 17x11's
I lowered the car a little with the slp level 1 suspension kit and the car doesnt hit the fender, but on hard turns, the inside of the wheel rubs against the inside wheel well.
Not sure what I am going to do, maybe cut it.

Get the 50mm offset and make sure to get a adjustable panhard rod. Center your rear end and you should be good. Yes some cars need the bumpstop cut. You should not need to roll the fender lip with the 50mm offset. If you are lowering your car make sure to get the control arm relo brackets unless you don't need traction

As for my wheels, I had to shave off part of the lower inside wall of the fender to get them to fit. There's about 1/2 in. clearance between the inside of the fender (at the bottom) and the wheels. And yes, through hard turning my tires rub pretty bad, but normal-daily driving is fine. Drag racing 60ft times have greatly improved, but I may never have the opportunity to autocross if I can't fix this problem...

why?
..why would using 17x11 rims and a 315 tire cause the rear end to move out of place? Hence the use a an adj. panhard bar. Is it fairly simple to adjust it? I'd also like to switch to 315 but I don't want to deal with all the problems.
I've never had any problems with my 17x11s. They haven't rubbed once and the car has been drag raced and autocrossed. I don't have an adjustable panhard rod but I'm going to get one this winter as I've noticed that the drivers side tire sticks out about 1/2" farther than the passenger side. It wasn't noticeable until I put the big wheels and tires on. There's a link to pics in my sig. The pictures on the right hand side of the page are with the 17x11s on the back.
