1.7 Rockers

I have a 98 ls1 and wanted to do a simple add on and want to know if the 1.7 rockers will help much? The car has a programmer, cold air, cat back, and an underdrive pully on it? I am not sure about the piston to valve clearance. Thanks for any help I dont know much about the new style motors.

Stock rockers are fine for plenty of power, i'm pushing around 440rwhp on stock rockers, save your money for something else.

Stock rockers ARE 1.7:1.

You'd be buying another set.

BTW... what kind of programmer? If it's a Hypertech, throw that **** in the garbage can.. those actually make the car SLOWER.

Invest in some Longtube headers... you can get some Pacesetter LTs for under $400 anywhere -- that will be a nice 20rwhp gain.

You'd be surprised at how easy it is to get an LS1 motored-car in the 11s with an auto.

You'll need to have the computer flashed with the automatic profile. Do you have an auto wiring harness? You WILL need one.

I'm in North Carolina I have a car that is wrecked with an auto in it. THe trans was out of this one when i got it. But I did get a aftermarket shifter not sure what brand name. Where would i need to go to get the computer right? I was thinking about trying to get it into the 12's just a fun street car.

12s would be pretty much a bone stock motor with exhaust and sticky tires.

If you put a 3600 stall in the car when you were swapping trannies, you would run EASY mid 12s all day long.
