I would do:

Hooker Cat-back
Lid, whatever kind with a paper filter
4.10's
Pro 5.0 shifter
SFCs
Free Mods

and save the rest. We all know how stupidly expensive it is to repair these cars and their relability is also not the best...

just some food for thought.

I'd go with a cutout and dynomax muffler much cheaper and sounds good, or if you want a cat-back go with magnaflow it's really up to you what u like, but I searched for months and decided to go woth magnaflow and I love it. Don't forget about longtubes, slp lid I got mine for 80 bucks, ssra, shifter is good, and maybe some suspension, or you could skip the longtubes and go with cam but expensive to install. That should give about 75 horses but it's up to you what u want to do.

i'm suprised no-one's said to save the money for your first wreck like they did me (i'm in 11th this year).

pacesetter headers-420
O2 simms- 50 shipped used
rear end girdle (your GONNA pop your rear end without it)
pro 5.0 shifter (trust me, i've had em all..... LSS, Ripper, Hurst, and this one i've found to be the best with the least amount of missed shifts)- 164.99 shipped
cutout-35 shipped (summit)
lid-100
SSRA-120

thats 725 bux right there

OOOOOOOOO! clutch- i'm working on trying to find a good clutch but so far the spec stage 4 is the one i'll be getting- 399

save the rest and keep on saving because your now gonna be laying down about 350+ and the wheels (i dynoed 2 nights ago in my 2000 ws6 and got 352/354 at the rear wheels with the mods i just told you about)

i say coated pacesetters & ypipe, cutout, cam, lid and gears...if you do most of the work yourself it will come out to around 1700 give or take a few bucks and would legitimatly put you at around the 380rwhp mark.

I disagree. Let him have fun with his new toy. At least he's researching and doing his homework before he blows his wad of cash. Sure he should start an RRSP early but since the car was bought for him let him add the finishing touches. Any kid would die for parents like his.

FYI- You can get the same spoiler from JCWhitney for $129. I had it on my 94 and loved it. Three other friends have them. To me that spoiler and the 98+ SS spoiler are the best ones ever made for the cars.

I would get an air lid, do all the free mods, get some headers and a cutout then go for an LS6 intake and a Cam.

You can also get a N20 Kit put together for $300 if you go dry and around a 100 shot.

I second that! I also recommend getting some sub frame connectors in there. I had no idea how much difference they would make until I got mine. Day and night difference. Good luck on your car, and congrats!

P.S. If at all possible, save as much as you can for the unexpected problems that will come up.
