Y-Pipe to Cat; Weld or clamp?
Y-Pipe to Cat; Weld or clamp?
It seems like the clamp that came with the cat or y-pipe (can't remember)would be easier for disassembly purposes. I am not all that confident about getting a good seal though.
I have an SLP Y-pipe and Random cat. I could get it welded for nothing at the muffler shop I use.
Suggestions?

Re: Y-Pipe to Cat; Weld or clamp?
Welding will give you a better seal in my opinion. I am using band clamps to seal up every part of my exhaust, but that is for the purpose of easy future dissassembly.
Re: Y-Pipe to Cat; Weld or clamp?
If its welded then it will not be fune to have to remove for what ever reason.
I installed 3" 3 hole flanges on mine and could not be happier. I have no leaks period.
I have this one flange left over with gasket for sale $15.00 shipped anywhere usa.

Re: Y-Pipe to Cat; Weld or clamp?
I used the 3 point flange on both ends of the cat and ORP, so I can bolt them up when needed (emmisions tests
) if i have a leak there oh well..exhaust is loud enough to cover it up
