XMas Gift from my 1995 Z28 - DTC 29 - EAS Electrical Failure

My Camaro decided to throw a code yesterday on the way to my folks for Christmas. DTC 29 - EAS Electrical Failure.

I found these images:

But, I recalled that at some point there was a recall on the Air pump. It was changed for 'something', but I don't recall what. Is the electrical the same as in the images, or did GM make changes to it with the recall?

DTC 29 sets when the AIR pump fuse blows. Check the fuse and replace it if blown. If it continues to blow, most likely the pump is rusted and siezed up, drawing excessive amps. Temporoary "fix" is to unplug the harness connector from the AIR pump, then replace the fuse. The pump won't work, but it also won't set a code/SES light.

The recall was to address this specific problem. They add a device to prevent the exhaust from flowing back into the pump, causing the rust, and they beef up the wiring.

Shoebox has the info:

Thanks for the info Fred. I'll grab a new fuse later today, once the stores clear up a bit, and give it a shot.

Not to hijack his post. I had a 96 Caprice LT1 that I had the dealer delete the air pump from the computer. If I remember correctly the 94 and 95 B and C body you just had to remove the air pump relay. They had a TSB for the B and C body. Was there a TSB on the F body for this?

The B body recall was different. They just removed the pump. The f-body recall was to replace the pump and some associated hardware. If the OP never had the recall done, perhaps he still could. A call to a dealer with the VIN will tell him the status of the recall on the car.
