Would you trust a rebuilt waterpump?

This guy apparently replaced the bearing and seal. What would stop me from doing that myself?

Re: Would you trust a rebuilt waterpump?

If it is a Delco reman. then I guess it would be okay, but I usually just spend a little extra change to get a brand new pump.

If it were an LT1 than no, just cause they are pain in the *** to change. Regular SBC, probably.

Edit: Just now looked at the link, lol.. Wow, LS1, I dunno. How hard are those to change?

Re: Would you trust a rebuilt waterpump?

In theory a rebuilt pump should be just as good as a new pump. The casted housing doesn't go bad, just the seals and bearings. With that said, it really boils down to the quality of the person doing the rebuild and the quality of the seals and bearings used to rebuild it. So a rebuilt pump from a reputable source should be good.

I would just spend the extra money for a new, they usually have a warranty too.

This guy has at least 10 pages of feedback with 99.9% positive. Sounds like good parts to me.
