Which wire do I hook my SHift light to!! Please help

Which wire do I hook my SHift light to!! Please help

I have a pro Shift light in my car & I cant get it to light up at the RPM that I have the pill for . I have hooked it to the white with Black stripe wire & it lights up during start up but wont light up when I hit 3000 Im just testing with my smallest pill , then I hooked it to the plain white wire same thing lights up during start up but not when I hit 3000 please let me know what im doing wrong here , Im using the wires at the coil .

Hook it up to the tach wire under the dash.

Do a quick search and it will come up. I pulled mine from a wire coming out of one of the connectors in the PCM.

I don't know what your doing wrong, The white/black wire is the correct tac wire at the coil.

thats what I was told , weird like I said it lights up during start up but not at the RPM , I wonder if I have a bad light ??

It's very possible, especially if you tapped into the wrong wire you may have damaged it.

but it doesent make sense that it lights up during start up but not when I hit the right RPM something isnt right!!

Josh,

I’m thinking you tapped into a positive wire and damaged something in the shift light.

The correct tac wire (at the coil) is white/black and has a negative polarity.

that was the orgional wire I had it on when I got the light & it never worked right . SOmething was probaly wrong with the light from the get go.

Try a different pill and maybe tap into a different signal wire.

I did thry 2 different pills I have like 5-6 , as for a different signal wire where??

I cant remember which wire it is, but if you do a search on tach install or shift light install there is a wire that comes out of one of the connectors on the PCM that you can use.
