will an ls1 steering rack fit in an lt1??

i was wondering if a steering rack out of an ls1 would fit in an lt1 car, the reason i want to know is sense they have a shorter steering ratio plus i will be buying a new one soon since mine is the factory one and the new one will be polished was just hoping to make the car nicer at the same time.

As far as I know they are the same. But the shorter steering ratio is not determined by the fact it is an LS1, I believe all LT1's and LS1's have the FE2 suspension package which includes the more aggressive steering ration (2.25 turns from stop to stop) and the Firebird/Camaro V6 came with the F41 options which is 3 turns. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

If I remember right, they're not the same. I think the steering box is closer to the frame rail on the LS1 version.

ya i know that they are different go drive an ls1 and lt1 car back to back and the steering is a lot tighter on an ls1 i was just curious if the bolt holes line up. i know it can be modified to work but it would be nice it just fit right in.
