Will this fix my VATS

I was having security light issues where I would have to wait 3 minutes for the light to go off before it would start. Now the light blinks whenever i turn the key. I found this part on ebay has anyone heard of it and will it work?

Wouldn't it be A LOT cheaper just to measure the resistance in your key, then visit radio shack and bypass it with resistors?

My 2000 SS just did this. 2001NBMZ28 is absolutely correct. Search VATS w/ Google & there are a number of sites that give a step-by-step instructions on how to by-pass the switch in the column. The impala SS site had a good discussion on this. Just curious, my 94Z (daily driver) does not have the security light on the dash , but my 00 SS does. One trick that I did when I by-passed the VATS on my SS was: I went to the junk yard & pulled the VATS connector out of a wreck (any GM w/ pelet in the key has one) and soldered the resistors to it so I could unclip the one in the car & not have to cut the wiring (just in case I diagnosed it incorrectly). Radio Shack has a pack of like 100 resistors for < $10. Junkyard charged me $5 for the connector. The whole mod takes less than 1/2 hour to complete.

It most certainly should, since it has the same PassKey system.

I bought a resistor for 75 cents at a local electronics store and they double check the ohms on the key... Took about 30 minutes to fix..
