wheelie

So I definitely pulled up next to the wrong 3rd gen last night.. I figured it out about the time when we took off and his front tires came up about a foot off the ground. How do you make cars do wheelies?

It's pretty much impossible to get a car to pull the tires a foot off the ground on an un-prepped street without a burnout.

I wouldn't say horsepower as much as gears/traction and suspension work.... mainly suspension.

Some guys built cars to do just that. Silly, but true. Figure all the energy it takes to lift the front end of the car up into the air, and that's how much power you don't have making your car go forward.

well, sorry.. It happened. It was a black 3rd gen, I was coming off the line burning the tires and he launched really hard. I'd say he pulled off by about 5 car lengths by the next red light, which is about a quarter mile away.

no its not.......

I have done plenty of street racing without a burnout pulling both front wheels 6" off the ground. Its all in the set-up

that IS an unprepped street

I actually hangout with a few guys that have pulled wheels on the street, one being in a dodge polara, and one in a mustang, and one that gets VERY close in a 61 impala
