Wheel Geometry

I own a pair of 79 camaros, one I want to push all the way for road race
like handling. I want to up grade every thing. My question is. What is
the best front and rear wheel size and tire dementions to use w/out
dropping the car. And who's got the best after market brakes for
this with a 9"ford rear running disc too. I like the DSE quad link coil spring system that comes out this summer. Thinking tubular control arms.
looking at 16" and 17" rims 8" wide.

Any thoughts gear686@hotmail.com thanks

Like most of these questions, there probably is NO best, that you can afford.
Brembo, Baer, and Wilwood are probably the most popular, and good value for the money. The question when becomes, are you going to be actually road race this car or do you just want it to look like a road racer? If your actually road racing then you have to follow the rules which will limit what you can install. If you just want looks then the skys the limit. You can put 14" carbon fiber or ceramic brakes on it if you have the money. After you deside what brakes your going to run then you can look at wheels. Big brakes require big wheels to fit over them. Are you going to do fender flares, or stay inside the stock wells. Most big brake kits require at least 17" wheels. You may end up needing custom off set wheels which would run the cost up. Ride height also determines how big a wheel/tire you can stuff under your wheel wells. If you want to be "first on your block" get the new 2006 ZO6 brakes from Chevy. And then you have to deside if your going to run street tires, competition tires, or all out race tires(not recommended for the street. Lots to think about, good luck on your choices.
