What is under the passenger side dash?

I want to put the box for my keyless entry brain under the passenger side of the dash since I thought there was room under there. I took the plastic piece under the dash off and it looks like there is some kinda vent there, is it safe for me to put this under there?

Yes, it'' the AC/Heater Box. Go ahead and put your Keyless entry brain over there, but it would be better suited under the drivers side.

I would have put it on the drivers side, but there isn't enough room.

Thanks for the info, I saw the vent and didn't know if whatever went in/out would damage the box or not.

Re: What is under the passenger side dash?

Ive got the main brain to my alarm under the drivers side dash, and the alarm sensor is in side the console in front of the shifter...which seems like a great place

Re: What is under the passenger side dash?

I'm not using the actual alarm for this kit, just the parking light flash, unlock and lock doors, and trunk pop. My power locks are aftermarket, and the relay for them is on the driver side. I don't want to stuff to much under the driver side, especially since the plastic is sagging from age. I ran the wires between the vents (or whatever they are, they look like vents to me) and the center console.
