What is this thing?

I'm looking for a spot to put a led for my alarm and I don't want to place it on any of my dash panels or by the radio... I was looking at my gauges and there's a round spot at the bottom between the speedometer and gas gauge... I've turned the key, turned the lights on and everything else and nothing makes it illuminate... It's obviously there for a reason, and it might be obvious and I'm just overlooking something... I don't have my owners manual so I'm not sure what it's for... Here's a pic of it below.

WHAT IS IT

Re: What is this thing?

That is the ASR light. If your car was not equipped with ASR, it is not active.

ASR = Acceleration Slip Regulation ... ie: Traction Control
