What should I run at the track
I was told by a v6'er that I should run a mid to high 14 in the 1/4.
96 Z, new A4, 2.73 LSD, open air box, tb bypass, open air box, 160* t-stat, cruise, power locks, power seat, t-tops, thats it.

The second open air box, cruise, power locks, power seat, and t tops probably aren't going to help much.
Condition of the motor, whether the cat is clogged or not, weather and elevation will all make a difference in how the car runs. I'd say you're probably mid to low 14's if you can get a decent 60' time.

The motor runs very strong and with the Mobil 1 15W-50 it does not burn or leak a drop of oil. Its also got an LS1 1LE trans mount, and cloth interior the cruise and t-top stuff is just what I have in options, no leather, no power windows ect.
Thats suprising because I have never seen an LT1 camaro run over a 14.0 but have CAI and 3.23's
I know a guy with a 97 T/A 6 speed fully loaded, CAI, and borla cat back and he only keeps about half a car on me, but then he is still trying to learn to run WOT with a 6 speed.
I guess I will just have to get a CAI and exhaust

LT1's are still pretty much considered stock with an CAI and a cat-back. His stick will be faster than yours when already moving since he is putting more power to the ground. I doubt you would run any slower than mid 14's. You should run a low 14's since that is what most LT1's do. But as said before, track conditions are the most important. One day I ran my LT1 at night (the track was cold..it was about 40 degrees outside) and I ran a 14.7. The next day..it was 67 degrees with perfect condidtions all around; I ran a 14.3.
look at my mods in sig......nothing too major.......cai (cold air induction), cutout, dr's and tune and Im running decent 13.8x consistantly all night long in the 101 mph range. The dr's cut me a best of 2.029 60 foot so far and best on street tires I was able to pull a pretty good (for street tires) 2.098 60 foot. Now with 3.73 gears, longtube headers, and 3200 stall converter I would almost certainly be in the 12's......heck I think I may be knocking on very low 13's when I get my headers and gears alone. Just takes a little money.....but if you shop around in the forsale section you can get some pretty good deals on used stuff. Another big thing is you wanna make sure your car is running in top shape so as you dont lose any horspower. Oh yea I forgot......weight reduction is huge. I pulled out my spare tire and jack, back seats, front sway bar and I have ordered a new lightweight battery. I think once I put my new light battery in and if I take out my pass. seat for race day then I am 13.7 for sure with very limited amount of money invested.
Here is a breakdown of what everything cost for ya.
cai=190 dollars
cutout=30 dollars + 50 labor to install
tune=can be had for about 130 dollars
drag radials= I got em for 130 each at walmart tire center (special order)
All that other stuff I listed arent much of power gains, but they are nice to have and all relatively cheap....trick flow elbow was 90 bucks but only gave me maybe 1 or 2 hp...looks mainly.
Oh and so ya know, with cai only and my noob *** driving my first time to the track I ran a 14.4 at 99.5 mph which was my best of the night. Hope this helps man, and be sure to ask me any questions you may have.

When my car was stock I ran right around a 14.0-14.2 in the 98mph range with relatively poor street tires. After my CAI, cutout, and a new set of street tires I was around 13.7-13.9 at 99-100mph. Can't remember my 60ft but it was pretty crappy both times. 2.2ish I think, but don't quote me on that. If your car runs well and you get a good lauch I wouldn't be suprized with very very low 14's. BTW mine is fully loaded with leather and was a hardtop at the time.
Thanks Mark. I want to get some weight out of the car soon, I have thougt about pulling the A/C when I get a re-tune after more mods and a tubular k-member. I want to get some gears but was told since its an LSD rear that I will have to get some extra work done or a new rear for 3.73's to work.
Come next summer I want to get some new wheels so I will get some nice street tires then
By next summers end I would like, k-member, A/C delete, full exhaust with long tubes, 3.73's, SFC's, SLP CAI, re-tune, and roller rockers (seen some nice gains with them)
