I have an SS v8 from '96, found a working cheap V6 for sale and i was wondering if i should buy it for parts!

What doesn't match ? except engine and trans ofc. Does the rear end have any simmilarities ? the casing? something? Interior is same color+black leather so that works... Also convertible like mine, looks like a nice part box What won't work??? anyone got a clue ?

(I have a few problems now, hit a ditch and dispaced my whole rear end, will i be able to install the arms, axle casing (if mine is bent), anything from a V6 ?)

 

rear axle is all the same...except the differential itself. it's not gonna be a posi rear. although the gears are the same.

springs and sway bars will be smaller/weaker

but for the most part they are identical cars except for engine/trans

 

Will the disc brake couplings be the same? Some V6 have drum. Also, can't i replace the differential from V6 with the one from v8? my posi?

 

not sure on the brakes...

but i think you should be able to just swap over the parts, change the proportioning valve and that's about it.

the differential will swap out fine.

 

OK any other oppinions ?
