What do you think would be the better option?

I have a 94 camaro z28. Its got 170k miles on it and I'm not sure if the motor has ever been rebuilt. It runs great and looks good for the year only a few minor problems. It lost almost no oil in 10k miles. I love the car tho its a 6 speed and pretty much everything I was lookign for. But what I was womdering is doyou think it would be better to rebuild the motor and eventually the rest of the drivtrain or should I save up to buy a camaro with less miles. I would like to start modifying my car but I know the motor probly won't handle to much with all the miles. Id like to eventually have a car running low 12's. I can do basically all the work myself if I decided to rebuild the motor. I was just wondering what everyone thinks would be the better option? If anyone needs more info on the car to better help me just ask. Thanks
