Friend of mine recently had his 2002 Firebird stolen and set on fire. The theives set the tank on fire to torch the whole car but it only burned the car behind the doors. Due to circumstances the insurance company isn't paying him anything and he is stuck with the car and an payment.

It's only got 25k on it and it's an A4 car. I know the engine and tranny would bring 3-4k if parted out. But I'm not so sure the whole car is worth that as the engine and trans are about the only good part on it as it was put in a ditch before it was burned. What wasn't melted or burned in the interior is totaly smoke damaged.

I'm courious because I suddenly have an ich to put an LS1 in my 94

That is horrible news, I can't believe someone would do such a thing, but then again, in this day and age. He might be able to fetch a couple grand for motor and tranny considering the very low mileage. The powertrain would be a little more desirable if it had an M6 instead.
