Re: What brand motor oil???
Well... There's almost as many good oils as there are users, so be prepared for some varying answers.
So... My choice of oil is fully synthetic Mobil 1 10W30. I know it is not everybody's choice, but I've used it in all my F-bodies since 1999 and never had one single problem supposedly caused by oil.
I'd say as long as you use synthetic oil, you'll do just fine.

Re: What brand motor oil???
As long as the oil meets the correct American Petroleum Institute (API) Service Category and has both the API Service Category and the ILSAC specifications criteria with the "Starburst" symbol on the bottle, I am good to go regardless of brand name.
Re: What brand motor oil???
I use Wolf's Head oil. It really slowed down the "smoking when you start it" problem in my 90 RS. When I had Valvoline in there, it was quite a bit worse. As far as Pennzoil/Quaker State/Wolf's Head oil being crap, I totally disagree. I know several people that have used these brands and never had any problems, even with high miles. Like the above post, people make it a much bigger deal than it really is. As long as it meets the latest API specs (SL or SM), you can bet it will be just fine with proper changes. Just my opinion.

I've been using Mobil 10w-30. I think it's a bit thicker then 5w-30 but it really isn't cold over here so it should be fine. The reason why I went with 10w-30 is Costco only had that

10W30 is fine in warm climates.
