Re: weighed my car today
Hm.... i am interested to see what mine is going to weigh... I have no backseat, no spare or jack, I took out all of the sound deadening under the carpet, !airpump, !stock catback, and a couple of other little things.... I have an M6, camaro, NO POWER ANYTHING, hardtop.... So the way i see it is i already had a pretty light camaro to start with.... I cant wait to go and weigh it a the track soon....

My car went on a diet this weekend. Things I removed with attached weights:
Front impact bracing, 23lbs
Front driving lights/brackets, 3lbs
Front swaybar/brackets, 14lbs
Windshield washer resovoir, 8lbs (estimate with varied fluid levels)
Rear impact bracing, 21lbs
Rear seat, 19lbs
Rear seatbelts, 9lbs
Rear decklid divider, 4lbs
JL Audio Stealthbox, 27.5lbs
Rockford Amp, 6lbs
------------------------
Total = 134.5lbs
JUST off the front end >>>>> = 48lbs <<<<<<
My car weighed 3440lbs before <without the spare/jack> so I'm curious to see what it weighs now after I get it back on a scale.
Things I still plan to do:
All sound deadening material under carpet 22lb estimate (carpet to remain)
Lightweight front buckets 35lbs
ABS unit/brackets 10lbs
Center console replaced with custom carbon fiber unit 9lbs
Misc junk from center console/glovebox 5lbs
Lightweight slicks/skinnies 75lbs (have heavy 17x9.5/17x11 ZR1 combo now)
After everything I should be around 3220lbs +/- 10lbs. These should make a very noticable improvement at the track and how the car handles/feels day-to-day.

Re: weighed my car today
Mikey97, are you talking vehicle weight or race weight, there?
I've had my car weighed twice, once at a truck weigh scale and once at the drag strip. The first time it came out as 3550 without me in the car, totally stock. This is a T-topped third-gen Trans Am with A/C and A4 transmission, and full tank of fuel.
The second time (last year) was with no spare tire, no rear seats, no A/C, a T56 transmission swap, and an 8-point Chromoly roll bar installed. The race weight with me in it was 3700. Subtract my 185 lbs of butt and it comes in at 3515. I think most V8 third and fourth-gen cars all come in around 3350 to 3600 pounds from the factory. I think a realistic race weight for a street/strip is 3300 pounds, including driver. I dont believe in any sub-3000 pound F-cars unless they have been back-halved, are missing all interior, and are running lexan windows.
GVW = Mass of car + all fluids + max cargo capacity of vehicle
VEH. WEIGHT = Mass of car + all fluids
RACE WEIGHT = Mass of car + all fluids + driver
