water temperature gauge question

water temperature gauge question

can i thread the temperature sender into any hole in the heads or is there i certain one i have to use? thanks

First, make sure you have the metric adapters. I put my sensor in the hole above the starter. Drop the starter, and theres a plug right above it. Remove it, then get out of the way fast! Otherwise you'll get a coolant shower. Once its done draining, Put some teflon tape on the adapter, and out the sender in the adapter (tape that too) and screw it in the hole. Connect the sensor wire, put the starter back on, and put some coolant in it. BE careful, dont drive too far, let it warm up and keep checking the level. I did mine this mornign and i had to add coolant a few times throughout the day.

can i splice into the wire on the stock one?

That will skew both guages. You can rig up a "tee" with some fittings at the existing sensor if you want.

If you go to remove the plug in the passenger head, it is a 5/16" square drive.
