V6 with a V8 exhaust????? can it be done?

Hi,
I have a 94 Camaro with a standard 3.4 liter V6. I was just wondering what it would take or what needs to be done to fit a V8 exhaust on a V6 camaro.???

You might want to try to find a v6 with the y87 package in the junkyard - they came with dual exhaust.

Not much work needs to be done, to be honest.

I think that your car has a 1 in and 1 out muffler so the only thing that's really needed, in your case, is a muffler that is 1 in and 2 out.

If it's a V6 or a V8, it doesn't really matter since both types of vehicles have the Y-pipe.

Its the exact same exhaust, hangers, etc...just with 2 outs of the muffler. If you get an exhaust from a V8 it will be 2.5-3" piping back and dual tips instead of the 2.25" I think the V6 gets with a single tip. It will flow better, but for $80 you should just buy a Flowmaster 80 series, have some shop chop the old one off, weld this one in and ewld on some tips. It'll be roughly $150 in labor and worth every penny. Look on eBay for an 80 series with 2.5 (I) dual 2.5(O). Good luck.
