Upgrade to power seats, anything special?
Upgrade to power seats, anything special?
Might be picked up a set of power seats for my car, was wondering if anyones done the swap from manual to power and if I would need anything special to do it? Thanks fellas.
Re: Upgrade to power seats, anything special?
shouldn't need anything, other than running some power up to the under side of the seats. not sure if all have the connector and are just hidden or not.
i just pulled out the power seats form my car and swapped the power slider onto a non-power seat. everything bolted up the same.

Re: Upgrade to power seats, anything special?
I put a power driver seat in my 97 camaro. The plug is already there, so you just plug it in. When you say set, is the passenger seat power also? I didn't think they made power passenger seats.
Re: Upgrade to power seats, anything special?
It is just one more thing to break, yet one advantage of electric is that if you put a "killer" bassy sound system in your car it is near impossible to keep door handles from buzzing and rattling when the bass hits and vibrates things at certain frequencies and whatever.
edit: wtf am I talking about
, your talking about power seats not power windows...man I just got up

More than likely just the driver side seat you have is power. So just plug it into the existing connector. It may be under your carpet even, but they do come prewired for the seats. Good luck

i just put TA seats in my Z28. The power plug is there. If you are upgrading to seats with power lumbar and bolsters then you need the special air line, the wiring harness is nice to have too. With out the air line your seats won't ever pump up.
