Turn Signal Lever?

A while back my turn signals stayed completely solid making my turn signals pretty much useless. Recently, I was making a turn and went to push down on the lever and it just dropped down. From that point no turn signals or anything. Now the lever just moves up and down. I still have use of the other functions on the leaver. I'm wondering if I need a new lever along with the switch? Or, if the switch is just completely broke,

Re: Turn Signal Lever?

Probably just signal switch in the column... If the switches on the lever work, the lever is fine.

Re: Turn Signal Lever?

Okay. I took the lever out. It's not broke. Everything on the lever works. But the problem is that the lever just falls down. And it moves up and down without any tension. I'm wondering what is broke inside the column. The TS switch is going to be replaced no matter what. I'm just wondering if the cancel cam may need replacing as well. If anyone wants, I can post a few pics to to show the problem.

Re: Turn Signal Lever?

Mine did the same thing. Mine is a 93 TA, but should be similar. There is a small metal lever that screws onto the turn signal switch. It has a small pin that goes down into the lever switch. The small metal lever broke on mine. I can try and get some pics if it would help. You can send me some pics of yours to and I can see if that is the same thing happening.

Re: Turn Signal Lever?

You just need to pull the upper column apart and replace what is broken (probably the turn signal switch assembly).
