Turbonator?

Was looking around and found this:
http://www.turbonator.com/WhatIsIt.html

Anyone used it? Seems really sketchy to me.

i use 3.....and get 100hp boost compared to the base increase from one.

they build off each other....and they help me get 66mpg with my cammed LS1.

i hear GM is looking into taking over the company and using them on all vehicles to get them over the 35mpg-fleet requirements.

waste of money, the idea behind it is to cut down turbulent air flow into your intake manifold...

agree with above post, read similar...but not sure how effective for carb

but yea -- obviously stay away from any gimmicks like this

From everything I have seen/read about this idea, the theory is correct... but effectiveness and efficiency actually installed in various models/etc are zero or insignificant.... I read about one dyno test a while back where someone actually lost power - though it wasn't a controlled experiment.

sweet.

so this spinning air is supposed to stay spinning with all the forces acting on it in the air box/lid/intake i guess..

think of it like this. take a 2 liter, fill it with water (air IS a fluid), spin it like a tornado upside down, then remove the cap and watch the water spill into the sink. is it still spinning down the drain? lol

Why do I feel you just sparked a debate?

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

I put one on my Dyson. It sucked up the carpet and the floor boards.

If it was that easy to boost horsepower and gas mileage, manufacturers would be installing gizmos like this at the factory.
