Re: trying to track an old car

Oh, I thought you were asking about building a track/road race car.
Car fax will show you the past registrants of the car, so you may be able to find it by contacting the newest one on the list.

I am not sure if it works on older cars though, oldest one I've done was my 86 Trans Am.

i think you have to pay to do that right?
wondering if anybody has an account or if they have a 30day member thing

If the car means that much to you, why not order yourself a carfax account and just pay for the service?

Re: trying to track an old car

try the dealer. The service department may be able to bring up a service history from the vin. That may give you somewhere to at least start to track down the various owners. Good luck.

Re: trying to track an old car

If you get me the VIN, I can maybe find out who it is currently registered to and located I can usually go off a license plate number better, but a VIN may suffice.
