True Duals

Yo guys, I was just wondering who has true duals here ???

I am looking into LT's and was thinking about a cutout but then thought of running a true dual system. i think it would be better to have the "appearance" of a cat with the true duals. just wondering how many of you went this route and any rough estimates on how much the pipes and x-pipe were and stuff. i have been looking around and checking prices, not too bad, maybe a little cheaper than y-pipe and cutout

Do a search, a lot of people on here have true duals. I have a custom 2.5" over the axle setup, links in the sig. The cost of the exhaust system (everything but the headers) was about $700 or so.

That is pretty badass.. I'm wondering if it would be better to get GMMG now with my stock exhaust setup, and get long tubes later, or just save up, get long tubes and a custom dual setup like that.. I hear that an H pipe sounds beefier than the X pipe but is a little worse for performance. How does your car sound with those mufflers?

It sounds awesome. With turn downs, it would probably be louder, but mine's not too terribly loud unless you get on it.

Did you do the install your self, or did you have it done at a muffler/speed shop. I am going to have a member on another board help me with the header install and was wondering if he might be able to help me with the exhaust too. He has a welder and he has a drive up rack. he knows his stuff pretty well, and trust him doing the work. thanks again

I installed the headers by myself. But I took it to a shop to have the system fabricated. I had a pic that was kinda like what I wanted, but I marked it up to my liking and also made a drawing and gave it to the owner of the exhaust shop and we talked about it for awhile. I was nervous about the quality of work, since I've never had my car at the shop before, but I was impressed by their work. I probably could have done it myself, since I TIG welded a race car chassis for school. But I've never done exhaust work and I don't have a welder at home, nor a pipe bender. So I figured I'd leave it to the pros. Plus the local speed shop spoke very highly of this place. If you are doing turndowns, you could do it pretty easily with just you and the other guy.
