Re: tru dual ?
I have bbk shorties, no cats, with a flowmaster original 40 series in back. Sounds mean at idle, meaner at WOT...overall it sounds great and gets really loud.

Re: tru dual ?
alot of ppl like using the Longtube headers, and X pipe, and Bullet mufllers
I think for the Xpipe and Bullets mufflers, summit stocks them and you could get both of them for like 200$ to your door. then LT Headers can run from 300-800$ depending on Brand and coating you go with, If your on a budget many people are happy with pacesetter LT's
Go on LT1 tech and search "H pipe" there might be some sound clips others have made

See if that works.

Thats the SLP dual cat style headers, molested factory y-pipe split and going into 2 flowmaster 40-series mufflers dumped at the axle. 2.5" pipe.

Re: tru dual ?
The sound will depend a lot on the mufflers you go with...I have not heard many h-pipes with a wide variety of muffler, so I am no help there -- but the one I did hear, I prefered over the x-pipe (despite the power loss...I don't think it is that bad unless you are making 400 hp)... What exactly do you mean "sound like a mustang"? 5.0s? Or older Mustangs? IF you mean't older, h-pipes do give an older muscle car rumble....that's the only way I see it sounding like a mustang. My friend's 5.0 has an x-pipe and flowmasters dumped at the axle - I am still indiffrent to it's sound, and I usually like louder - there is just something about it....

Re: tru dual ?
Yeah, mine is a CC306 cammed 388", with ported stock heads. So it'll be a little louder.

I dont have many problems except that they will scrape on bumpy roads if I have 2 passengers.

There used to be a ls1sounds.com I think. Try that and search around the true duals page. There are several LS1 cars I think.
