Question Trade the TA for a C4 Vette?

Opinions please. I have an oppurtunity buy a 93 C4 40th Anniv. Vette with 88K miles for about the same amount as I can get out of my 98 Trans Am with 58K miles. Is it worth it? Will I like the Vette better or not as well? How do the C4's ride compared to a 4th gen f-body?

C4 would be nice with an LT1 but the TA is a better choice.

Actually, I'd go for whichever was a manual.

No way would I trade an LS1 T/A for a C4 'vette. A C5, yes...but never a C4.

In all but one important aspect the two car are supprisingly similar. The seating, visability and general feel are very much the same. Road manners are also very similar, with only very slight advantage going to the C4 in rough high speed corners.
The big difference is in the power. If you like the LS1 you will be very disappointed in the C4. You'll feel like your in your 3rd Gen.

If you have a 93-97 TA I would say yes, but the ls1, no I would not trade.

IMO C4s are ugly, outdated styling with no curves, plus its an LT1 and a 93 (have fun reading diagnostics with a paper clip and speed density) even though I'm a Chevy guy to the grave I would much rather have your TA unless the c4 is built !

I sold my C4 to buy my '00 SS and have absolutely ZERO regrets.

Even though I had swapped to better heads, cam and intake (amongst other things), the power difference is no comparison. It's much easier for me to get into and out of this car as well. The Vette's handling totally blew away this cars, but I can live with that. As for the ride, mine had the Z51 option and rode pretty firm...much moreso than my Camaro does.

The LS1 F body is a much more refined car that IMHO is actually EASIER to work on then my Vette was. The C4's also seem to be prone to electrical issues. EVERYTHING I ever did to that car was a PITA...EVERYTHING.

As much as I liked having that Corvette, it is highly unlikely that I will ever buy another...and definitely not another C4...

Here was my old toy:

and here is what convinced me to not ever buy another one...

Wow guys, thanks for all the input. Maybe it's just the idea of owning a Corvette, I don't know. Maybe that was the whole thing. It's just a car I'd like to own at some point. Maybe I can keep the TA and somehow rake up enough for a Vette as well. Thanks again guys.
