Traction Control switch

Tried doing a burnout today. Wheels spun as long as I kept my foot on the gas but no smoke what so ever. My buyer's guide says there is a traction control switch on my car but I can't locate it. I was thinking this might be the problem. I own a 95', thanks. Help

Re: Traction Control switch

If you do have traction control, it will be located above your radio - the button is a left to right toggle and it says "ASR" - stands for Automatic Slip Regulation. IE - Traction control.
When you start the car, it will be on automatically - just flip the switch and a light will come on the button and the dash near the speedo indicating it is off.

Re: Traction Control switch

pretty sure it's right by the fog light switch actually
he has the 93-96 style interior (my fav) while you have the 97+ interior

my 95 doesn't have it and iirc, not many 95s did
if there isn't a switch next to your fog lights, then you dont have it

Re: Traction Control switch

the switch is located below the radio in front of the center console to the left of the cd holder spot. I believe next to the cig lighter. If you were to have it and it was on, the gas pedal would literaly push your foot right off of it and you would lose all fuel and power to the wheels.

Not on a Camaro, you're thinking of a Firebird. The other guys were dead on.

Hmm......yet your saying it still acts like you do?

You say you tried to do a burnout but there was no smoke........did you get the rear wheels to break loose at all?

The traction control does two things.
1. Throws the gas pedal back up at your foot when you floor it.
2. Engages the rear brakes to stop the spinning.

Is that what happened to you?

No your wrong. I'm looking at the interior of my 96 Z28 right now and it's exactly how I mentioned it.

Re: Traction Control switch

It also does not engage the rear brakes. Unless something is wrong on my 96 and 98.
