tired of running out of gas

alright so i ran out of gas about a mile from the gas station last night. This is the third time i ran out fo gas in the 9 month period i have owned the car. this is becuase i my gas gauge is not working.. so i checked the wiring shown on shoebox site and all the wiring is good, so im guessing my float in teh tank is stuck on something, so i was wondering the best way to get it "unstuck".

what would i have to do to fix this problem??

There is a trap door method to get to the pump. It makes it real easy to access anytime you need to. As far as fixing it that would have to be determined when you pull the pump out and inspect. These cars are infamous for ruining fuel pumps from running out of gas. Running it dry removes the fuel that keeps the pump cool and in turn shortins the life span.

Why not fill up your tank and only run a certain number of miles?!

I don't even watch my guage. I watch my miles. It's usually within 1 to 2 miles when the light comes on anyway.

fix it that's the best way, but I won't ever have that happen to me!

If you keep running out of gas, you will be replacing the pump soon, anyway.
