Tire Question...

Ok, I left work last night and we have a culdesac with a turn around circle.
I decided to have a little fun and light the tires... So I did a nice full block long burnout... holding the RPMs steady at around 4K in 2nd and just running it out...

When I got done I found powder on the street and twin white marks. For some reason all it did was clean the pavement??? Today when I came in all the tire powder had blown away and I can just see my white marks on the pavement. Is this something to do with the tire compound? I can't leave marks no matter how much rubber I burn off.

I have Bridgestone Potenza RE930s on it now and my old RE730s would do the same thing.

Re: Tire Question...

if it's not burning up your tire really at all, i'd be thankful
i wish i could do burnouts with no decrease in tire life

Re: Tire Question...

Thanks for the replys.. yeah.. it doesnt seem to be tearing thru them really bad. I went thru a set of GSCs in ~6months. The 730s made it a year.. not sure about these.. had them ~2 years..but the car was down for 10 months out of that time. LOL
