Tips for adjusting rusty tailpipes
My hooker aerochamber is about 2 yrs old and rusted pretty bad. I need to adjust the left tailpip up a little bit.. I took of the clamp going into the muffler and spray the fitting with PB blaster. When I pull or push on it, it feels like the whole catback will break before the tailpip will move up/down in the muffler. Any tips?

get the torches out, heat the whole pipe where they join until theyre glowing and they'll break free. If you dont have access to acetylene torches then you can try one of those propane torches but you wont get it glowing hot, but it still may break the rust free enough so you can turn the tailpipe. If all this fails, cut it before the 90* bend towards the bumper where you can slip a piece of pipe 1/8" larger over the cut and re-clamp it back together after you make your adjustment. good luck.

unfortunately not likely,....if you've already tried unclamping it and beating on it some with a mallet, and spray the crap out of it with "PB Blaster" liquid penetrant and it still doesnt budge, yer screwed. I would think if you jacked the car up and then put a jack under the tailpipe you may be able to break it free, and if its up you're trying to go and it bends a little, so be it, right. If you do try jacking the tailpipe though, word of caution, make sure you have something like a prybar and pipe or something blocking the muffler from being bent up at the same time, you need some opposing force to hold the muffler stationary. Thats about the only other option I can think of unless you can undo the over the axle pipe and pull the whole muffler setup out which is probably going to be just as big a battle.

I just pulled the original exhaust from my car to install a Borla catback. The 11 year old factory stainless steel exhaust looked like new. The bolts loosened with little effort and the I-pipe slid from the muffler without force with my bare hands. Nobody wanted it so I threw it away. sad, because I would had given it away for free and now it sits in the landfill.
I would recommend replacing your exhaust with something that is at least as good of quality as what came on the car from the factory. I wouldnt even consider anything that was not stainless steel. Maybe you can find someones old OEM exhaust? Those things last forever and are available for next to nothing.
