Throttle body wont open all the way during WOT

A problem I am having is that when I floor the accelerator pedal, the throttle body will not open all the way. This is definitely a hindrance with my nitrous system that has the WOT switch because the throttle plates are opening enough to engage the switch. I looked around the pedal area for obvious intrusions that could prevent the pedal from fully being depressed and I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. Is it possible that the throttle cables are out of adjustment? Is there a procedure to tighten them up if that is the case? Or is there something else I may be overlooking? Also, the car does have TCS if that is of any issue.

I remember there being a mod you can do to get the plate to full open. IIRC, out of the factory, it doesn't open to 90 degrees. I'm not sure if that's your problem with the WOT switch, though.

Re: Throttle body wont open all the way during WOT

I tried adjusting it today. I was able to get it to pull fully open at WOT, however, it is then too tight and it holds open a tad during idle now causing my rpms @idle to be a little higher then normal. The cable is stretched out pretty good, it looks like I have no other choice then replacement. A couple of quick questions, are these throttle cables expensive, it looks like I will just need the one going from the throttle body to the traction control motor? Also, is it possible that the traction control motor causes premature wear on the throttle body cable and necessitates periodic adjustment and/or replacement?
