Is there a sensor that detects when hatch is open/closed?

I'm wondering because when everything is colsed on my car, and I press the lock button, my car beeps twice to let me know everything is shut and locked.

But when my hatch is open and I press the lock button, it only beeps once, telling me something isn't shut.

Now when I lock the car with everything shut, it only beeps once. I unhooked the battery to reset it. Then with everything shut, it beeps twice like normal. But I figured out, if I open and shut the hatch, it only beeps once no matter what.

So is there a sensor that detects when the hatch is open/closed?

Because even though my hatch is fully closed.. it must think it is open, because it only beeps once. So I am looking to replace the sensor if it exists. Maybe there is a fuse?

Thanks!

Theres a small black spring loaded switch right next to the hatch release mechanism (almost part of it).

On the side towards the rear of the car, if its working ok it should make the courtesy light turn off when you close the hatch, providing everything else is shut of course.
