Theft lock?
Theft lock?
Hello, i put my car away for winter about 3 weeks ago and it is outside with a cover on it so i wont be able to place a trickle charger on it like i used to. Now, with the battery disconnected will it cause the theft lock to trigger? I was told by some that it would and others that it wouldnt i would wrather just get it from the horses mouth. Thanks
Re: Theft lock?
if there was ever a code entered in the radio, then yes, the radio won't work, but other then that, no worrys
if you hook the batt back up in the spring, and the radio say LOC, just post back up, I have the procedure to unlock it

Re: Theft lock?
If the radio loses power for any reason, and the code has been set, it will be in "lock" until the correct code is entered. There is a small time period in which this won't occur, but I don't know how long it it is. There is a device available that plugs into the cig lighter, powered by a standard 9V battery, that maintains power to the radio and pcm so the memories won't be lost.
Re: Theft lock?
ok great...i dont think the theft lock has been engaged due to all the times that i have had the batt cable off for a couple hrs and it was fine when i hooked it back up. So hopefully it wont be an issue. Thanks again guys
