Testing a power window motor

Is there anyway you can test a motor? Ive located the wires, and im trying to hook a hot wire up to test them. I cant get the window to do anything. Its not on my camaro, but on a 98 chevy pickup truck. All of the window switches are unhooked and stuff.

Just jumper power and ground to the two wires going to the motor.
