my pass side headlight comes up fine but when it goes down the motor just keeps going and i have to disconnect the wireing harness to keep from burning up the motor. im guessing its a tap or the gear and have an extra motor from a 2002 T/A are they the same motor or no?

Sounds like it might be the gear problem. Search for headlight fix, or find Brent Franker's page and look for the fix.
