Has anyone found a switched hot wire in the console of a '97 Camaro M6? I have found lots of wires. Some are for the cigarette lighter and the 12v accessory plug. These are hot all the time. The others I found appear to go into the air bag sensor. Would one of these work? Also their are 4 wires at the front of the console that go in and out of a connector. I cannot get any juice from these with the ignition switch on or off. I need a 12 volt wire that I can use for my electric exhaust cutout switch and prefer one that is off when the car if off. Also, my cigarette lighter circuit blows the fuse periodically and has for the past 7 years. I only use it when I plug in my Hypertech Programmer.

Do yourself a favor and DONT splice into any airbag sensor wires

 

Their are a coupla wires in that harness that look tempting to splice into. Has anyone figured out if one would work for my application?

you'll get a nasty surprise if you screw with the airbag sensor wires

 

I ended up tapping into the hot and ground wires for the radio. They were close by and the radio was easy to R&R.

 

Yah, use the radio wires or the ignition wires....
