on a recent trip to the dragstrip my bone stock (at that time) 02 trans am (non-ws6) ran a 14.1 at best but its mph was at 105. even though it is an automatic with 2.73's (i believe but i'm not positive) i don't feel this was the car's full potential the weather was fair possibly around 65 or 70. My concern stems mainly from the short time i had a .565 reaction time but my short times were 2.4 at best. I think that i might have damaged my suspension prior to this trip doing hella doughnuts one day, around 45 and up the rear of the car seems to want to drift and understeer with a vengance. Could there be something wrong with the suspension or am i just trying to make excuses for a lack of performance on my part? Any opinions would be appreciated, be honest, cruel if necessary.

 

Why would you beat your car like that?

You most likely took out a sway bar end link or something worse.

 

Are brake stands/shot smokers really that bad for the rear of your car? I don't do them too often because I don't want to pay for tires. My cousin told me it rips up the rear of your car.
