surging lights

surging lights

ok here is the run down. when i start my car and turn the headlights on the they surge bright to dim with the lope of my car. ok no big deal low rpm so the system isnt charging yet. but lately i have noticed when i am driving after the car has warmed up its doing also. i have a new starter, battery and altenator. anybody got some ideas. thanks in advance.

Possibly a short in the wiring, or maybe a bad ground somewhere.

I would lean toward ground. Mine did that and it wasn't that old. I finally redid all the grounds even though they didn't look that bad and what a difference it made.

The regulator in your rebuilt alt is probably doing it.

Ditto the above. My brother got hold of a brand new alt. from Advance that would do that. Taking it back and getting a replacement solved the issue.
