This may be a stupid question, but is there some kind of trick on how to get my shift **** off on my stock 6-speed shifter. I tried just twisting it off as hard as i could, and my whole shifter twisted and felt like it was going to snap.. Could someone help me out. Thanks

 

My stocker was on pretty tight from what I can remember.......

Apply some additional elbow grease and you should get the results you are after.

 

Mine twisted off fairly easy, but I think mine was removed by the previous owner at least once. Came off a little too easy.

 

I had to twist mine so hard I thought something was going to break. With a little effort, I got it off though.
