Stupid GM turn signal housing design! Help me figure this out please.
For the past few months, I've been having issues with the front markerlight / turnsignals on my 1999 Trans Am. It seems like I am replacing a bulb on either side at least every three weeks. When this first started happening, I noticed that a large amount of moisture was getting inside the housings due to cracks and rock chips. So I replaced both housings with brand new ones and put a boat-load of "Connector Protector" in each socket. After all that, I'm still getting a minimal amount of moisture in the drivers side housing and that bulb is still burning out.
What am I overlooking? Or is this just something that starts to go wrong after the 55,000 mile mark?
Any help is appreciated.

I had the same problem with my turn signal.
It went out, I replaced the bulb, then a week later it blew out.
It turns out I didn't push the bulb far enough into the housing. Give it a little more elbow grease when you replace it again.

this is true... the bulb pops in there deeper then it feels like it should. i made the same mistake.
ALSO
you need to FILL the plug the bulb plugs into with "dielectric compound" or sometimes called "dielectric grease"
you can pick up a small toothpaste sized tube of it at napa for like $9
autozone sells "bulb grease" in little 99 cent packets. but those are
and not enough.

Just found part of the problem and all I can say is "DAMNIT I GIVE UP!" I just replaced these housings a month and a half ago and the Driver's side already has many cracks in it. So much for "Genuine GM Parts." I really cannot believe it and I'm so pissed off right now. No wonder they only charge $40.00 for these housings.
