Stay Far Away From Gmpartsdirect.com

well its been 17 days since i ordered a coolent pipe from gmpartsdirect.com and today i get this wonderful email.
"We had to reorder part number 10108635 due to the first part we received was damaged in trans-it to us from GM. As soon as we receive the new part, your order will be shipped out. Sorry for the delay."
............ honestly! my god! Ok so if they got the part from GM damaged, why the hell do they JUST now send me an email telling me this? Today on the day that i was supposed to be recieving the item. Im sure that they've had the pipe for awhile now, but they just now decide to tell me that its gonna be about another month..... TO SHIP A PIPE!!!!!!! I know putting a pipe in a box and taking it to a shipper is hard, but i didnt think it was this hard.

Yeah, I have heard bad things about their shipping process. Once you get that pipe finally installed, I'm sure you will look back at all of this and laugh, hopefully.

It's no coincidence that when you put gmpartsdirect.com in google one of the first few links that pop up is Complaints.com

As i have wriiten before on these threads,> search<, use gmpartsdirect.com as a reference and print their page.... Then go to your local GM dealership and order the part... At least for me, my contact usually meets the same price, or close.... And no shipping cost...... Plus the part is here in 2-4 days, if not sooner....

Next time try Dal Slabaugh (lockitup@bright.net) or Jason Cromer (staylorservice@cybertron.com). Same prices as gmpartsdirect, whole lots cheaper shipping and great customer service.

Re: Stay Far Away From Gmpartsdirect.com

I ordered several parts, waited a week with no communication. I e-mailed them and they replied they had to orser the parts.
I finnaly got them 2 weeks later.

The cumminication needs to improve with this seller. It also bothers me that you can not contact them by phone. They should let you know the shipping status.

Oh and they also shipped the wrong part, but in the end it was made right.

They have great prices and a great site, please do better.

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them with no problems. Shipping is on the slow end but not bad. I have had more shipping problems with Jason Cromer, with all due respect. Sorry for the delay, I know how you feel. I had a similarly horrible experience with RKSport when a part I ordered hadn't arrived and behold I called and they said it was on backorder.

I've also had numerous orders from them, and they have been very good. Shipping is on the pricey side, but it's still a great price compared to my local dealers. I even ordered my entire C5 Z06 brake conversion from them with no problems and there were lots of parts for that order.

Take that for what it's worth, but I will still use them. I've also used Dal, and he was great to work with, but too a while to ship my part because he had to order it too.(1le swaybar)

Jason gets my vote! I have ordered quite a few parts from him and always receive great customer service (not to mention the cheapest prices I have seen)!
