squeaking under hood until warmed up
squeaking under hood until warmed up
When the car is cold (2001 WS6) I get a squeak under the hood. The squeak increases/decreases with engine RPM. I think it's the PS pump.
I used a turkey baster and sucked the old fluid out of the PS Fluid tank and refilled with fresh fluid. Since I never sucked it *all* out, the system stayed pressurized and I didn't suck any air into it. The squeak went away for about a week, then came back.
So my questions:
(1) Is there a way to flush/refill the PS system and get rid of all the old fluid?
(2) What's causing the squeak and how do I fix it?

Re: squeaking under hood until warmed up
How long has your serpentine belt been on? Most of the time this is the problem, or a belt tensioner thats shot.
Whats with the AD s*& t attachement when I type in serpetine belt??? I'm not linking anything.
