Speed Speciality
Re: Speed Speciality
bargin compared to what? $100+ per rotor isn't much of a bargin to me.
drilled and slotted alone will probably not give much of a difference in braking ability. possibly less fade due to keeping cooler after repeated use. but it's more the type of pad you use that hlps breaking.
check out the "susp and brakes" forum for more on them and other brakes
Re: Speed Speciality
sounds to me like they are just drilled/slotted OEM rotors, which means they are more liable to crack and warp since they were not designed to have holes/slots on them.
i would pass
stick with some good pads and you should be fine with stock rotors

Re: Speed Speciality
They are not stock rotors. Take a look.

Remember I'm looking for replacement rotors and I stumbled upon these. So any upgrade for around the same price is just a bonus. And I already have good pads.

Re: Speed Speciality
They look like they are a pretty good rotor. I may be wrong, but I think that they are a sponsor on LS1Tech.com. I remember seeing a speacial on rotors and I could have sworn it was them. You may want to do a search over there and see what you come up with.
Re: Speed Speciality
are you SURE they are not just machined stock units? i mean they give you the choice of slots, dimples, drilled etc...as well as color...
makes me think they are doing the machine work themselves.
i mean...PowerSlot rotors are about $100 each...and many consider those somewhat lower quality rotors.
so it makes me think drilled/slotted rotors for $50 each is even more of a step down.
see my point?
from a picture how can you tell for certain they are not dolled up OEM units? unless you wanna take an advertiser's word for it
