i am looking at a 2000 SS and it says it has the slp option. however, i don't know if they just put on slp exhaust or if that was on option from the factory. i know it has slp exhaust and it has the dual dual tips. it also has the chrome 5 star wheels (i believe they are called the ZR1 wheels). i don't know if that is part of the package or not. just looking for some advice on this option if it even was one. also, does anyone know what this option came with and what it is worth? thanks

 

SLP options could be ordered on top of the SS package. The dual dual exhaust and chrome ZR1s were among the most common SLP upgrades. I believe there should be a sticker on the drivers door listing what SLP optional content it received.

 

just to point out something real quick...all the ss's came with those wheels
it's just that some were chromed

I have a 2000 SS and the guy told me it came with a few SLP options. Those included:

1) SLP loudmouth exhaust
2) SLP Headers
3) SLP short shift


But mine has the regular SS wheels.

 

i don't believe they put the "loudmouth" exhaust on a factory ss
it is severely loud
they do have a different exhaust though that flows good and was an option

are you sure it has headers also?
i've never heard of that

 

I am absolutely sure of what the guy at the dealership told me. I'm not sure if he was right or wrong... But the guy who he was selling the car for was an old dude. A car collector, I seriously doubt he modded the car himself. I could however, see him ordering a few extras on the car from the dealer where he bought it from.

The chrome wheels were an SLP option for $999. The performance exhaust system was a $699 option and looks like this...

thanks for the help. yes, the car i am looking at has that same exhaust and wheels. it has 20K on it and the owner is asking $18,500. it seems reasonable to me.

 

Crome wheels were an option. The Loudmouth exhaust and headers were not. SLP couldn't install it if they wanted to. It is too loud and won't pass EPA noise regulations because of it. Their catalog states it is for Off Road use only.

My bud bought the car above from me for $16,500. In a month's time he put nearly $3,000 into the car in upgrades. Decided he wanted a truck and about 3 weeks ago sold the car for $14,700. The guy needs some serious professional help I damn neared bought it back!!! LOL!

 

yeah i will just have to see what my dad says. i hate to have a car payment. i may be going to dental school in a year so i would like it paid off by then. that may be pushing it.
